So, let me tell you about my journey in meditation.
I’d always thought that I didn’t have time to meditate. I always wanted to but I kept putting it off for whatever reason. We talked about Procrastination in my previous blog and I told you how to beat it. Although I already know how to defeat procrastination, back then I was doing the opposite. I was delaying my journey to meditation for as long as I could. So, how did my breakthrough come out about?
My cousin sent me a link to some videos created by a man named Vishen Lakhiani.
He was a Malaysian American guy. I started watching his videos and found myself really enjoying them. It was very entertaining and he made quite a lot of references to meditation.
With his guidance and the help of other YouTube videos I researched, I tried meditating. And literally within a week, I noticed that I was leaving work 30 minutes earlier, my mind was clearer, and I was not stressed. I was not even getting angry and I just felt happier altogether. I liked what I was experiencing! Eventually, I realized I couldn’t start a day’s work without meditating first.
Since then, I’ve been progressing on my journey. I have upgraded my meditation practice and attended meditation courses. In the process, I learned a whole lot more! But the most important thing I’ve learned is just to get started. We won’t really know if something would make a difference for us until we try it.
I’ve recommended meditation to many people and I have yet to find someone that said it didn’t help. So, if you’re clueless about meditation, it’s very simple. You can YouTube it. Look up 6 Phase Guided Meditation Vishen Lakhiani and you will find it. It’s only 12-15 mins and it’s 6 phases! These phases are compassion, gratitude, forgiveness, envisioning your perfect day ahead, envisioning your perfect 3-year goal, and taking a blessing. It doesn’t have to be religious just a blessing for the day ahead.
I’d like to invite you to give it a try for a period of time. It doesn’t matter whether that’s 14 days, 21 days, or any number that suits you. I’d love to hear the benefits or the experiences you’ve had from meditating because I love hearing how things change for the better for people.
